Bourdain and Waters. On Stage. Together.
Eat Me Daily provided a great recap of Alice Waters and Anthony Bourdain together on a panel at the Food for Thought forum in Hartford, Connecticut a couple of nights ago. While Bourdain's comments about Waters being "very Khmer Rouge" reportedly did not come up, this did not prevent Tony B. from taking a well-aimed swipe or two at Empress Alice, e.g.,:
Additionally, Duff Goldman was involved (sorry, I have no idea who he is but I guess he's a famous chef) and cocaine was discussed.

According to Alice, we should "provide breakfast, lunch and a snack FOR FREE to every child in America," even if it cost billions. "How could it not be worth it?" she defended, "these children are our future." ... After that she went on and on till Bourdain said – "I put literacy above that as a priority" and everyone clapped.Bravo, Tony! Literate people are well-equipped to make their own food choices, without hectoring by food police such as Empress Alice.
