Forgive Me, Readers, For I Have Sinned...
...it has been four months since my last post.
Life has pretty much sucked for the past few months and this isn't just my usual bemused grumpiness.
My father took ill in December and passed away shortly after the first of the year. While I was in Florida settling his affairs, life served a particularly rancid cherry on top of that hot crap sundae when a grad school classmate of mine was aboard the Continental flight that crashed in Buffalo.
A very faint silver lining in these dark storm clouds was the culinary adventures that traveling to the respective memorial services afforded. The next couple of posts will document these. Then, it will be back to our regularly scheduled program of randomly timed posts, which I will endeavor to do more frequently than in the past.
Crap sundae, indeed. Sorry you were going through such a difficult time.

I was sorry to hear of the news of Grumpy's Father. Having had the pleasure of knowing the man...I can concur... that it is a great loss indeed.
It was at that man's table that I first enjoyed lamb chops with mint jelly.
The memory of it stays with me until this day. I didn't know until that instant (some 30 plus years ago) that i would like such a treat.
