Zagat SF Bay Area Restaurant Survey

OK, boys and girls, here’s your grumpy reminder that your votes for this year’s Zagat San Francisco Bay Area Restaurant Survey are due on March 30. [N.B., you must be a (paid?) Zagat member to vote.] I just submitted mine.

I gave three restaurants,
COCO500Fringale and Lark Creek Steak, perfect 3’s across the board. I’ll admit that I inflated the décor score for COCO and Fringale but I like both so much that I wouldn’t change a thing about them.

My five favorites for the year:

1. COCO500
2. Fringale
3. Lark Creek Steak
4.
Tamarine
5. Gialina

I gave one slop house imperfect 0’s – Naan’N’Curry. I ate at the Eddy Street branch and the only positive thing I can say about it is that it’s cheap. Better Pakistani/Indian fare can be had at Shalimar for about the same price.

This is not to say that Naan’N’Curry is the worst place I’ve eaten in the past year. I’m sure there have been worse – I just can’t think of them right now. But, it is the worst I’ve place I’ve eaten in the past year that appears on the Zagat ballot.
