Good Riddance
While the folks over at Eater SF are bemoaning the closure of Caffe Espresso in the Sir Francis Drake Hotel, IMHO the place got exactly what it deserved. The food? Yuck! The pastries? Tasteless! And don’t get me started on the iced tea!!! Vile, disgusting stuff. As muddy as a flooded river. Taste guaranteed to make you pucker. I have no idea how any human being with a greater than room temperature IQ could screw up something so simple so badly.

The anti-chain contingent is whining because Starbucks is reportedly moving into the space. I’m thrilled. At least I can see through their iced tea and their lemon loaf cake is yummy.
